Free/Low Cost Legal Services in New Orleans: Hotlines (Call Centers)

Introduction

Hotlines provide immediate advice or referrals, but they don't do research over the phone or answer more complex questions. Hotlines (Call Centers)

Child Support Enforcement - 24 hours/7 days a week toll free hotline: 1-888-LAHELP-U (1-888-524-3578). They provide guidance for parents seeking child support. There are charges for enforcement. Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence - is a coalition of statewide shelters that provide advocacy, resources and referrals, including legal services, for victims of domestic abuse. Metropolitan Center for Women & Children - provides legal representation and advocacy for victims of domestic or date violence, sexual assault, stalking, and immigration issues affecting victims of human trafficking. Contact: 24 hour crisis hotline: (504) 837-5400.

STAR (Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response) - provides legal representation and assistance in matters related to sexual trauma.
